About Me

I am so excited to be a part of the Washington team and back in the Salt Lake City School District! I graduated from BYU in 2007 with a degree in social work and spent two years as a supervisor/case manager at an at-risk shelter for children aged 9-17. During my social work internship, I spent several weeks at an elementary school where I decided that I would find more fulfillment as a teacher. Immediately following graduation, I enrolled in the elementary education program at the University of Phoenix. I began teaching 5th grade at Highland Park Elementary in 2008 and taught for nine great years.  I worked with some highly inspirational leaders who nudged me in the direction of administration. Their example proved that administrators can play a large role in positively influencing students. I took their advice and obtained an administrative endorsement from Southern Utah University. I accepted an assistant.principal position in the Coeur d’Alene School District in northern Idaho where I had many experiences which I feel have prepared me for my return to the Salt Lake City School District. I am incredibly excited to be back in my new role and I am dedicated to making a difference in children’s lives every single day.
